![]() ![]() The main window of the utility is divided into three main panes. On the left side you have the Inbox, Outbox, Trash, Contacts, Templates, Groups and more, whilst the central pane lists all your emails. By selecting one email, you can read it in detail in the lower panel. There is literally no learning curve to speak of whatsoever as anyone who has ever used Yahoo! or MSN, will instantly know all of iScribe’s features.Įmail clients should be fast and customizable so that users can expand their capabilities. It should be safe and, last but not least, offer lots of email related options. Fortunately, i.Scribe is a remarkable utility that incorporates all of these essential features into such a small package. Firstly, i.Scribe is as fast as your internet connection. This means that, unlike Outlook, you don’t have to needlessly wait for something to happen as mail is sent and received at blazing speeds. A flexible flat file format is used by i.Scribe for mail storage and, as a result, emails with huge attachments can be easily moved with little effort. Other useful features of i.Scribe include the support for popular protocols such as MAPI (fetch, win32), POP3, SMTP, MIME and IMAP4 (fetch only). A contact database and calendar are also implemented by i.Scribe. The best thing about i.Scribe is that its capabilities can be greatly extended through the use of plug-ins. Plug-ins can be written for directory services, 3rd party MIME type viewers and text handling utilities. Security is a very important topic and i.Scribe provides an effective Bayesian spam filtering. This is a built-in spam filter that is able to learn the types of mail you consider to be “junk”. In addition, mails can be neatly organized by using the color-coding feature of messages and the handy search bar. Keep in mind that i.Scribe is a free email client and thus, only one account can be created. Support for multiple accounts is added in the commercial version. You may need to scroll down to multiple comment pages if you have commented a lot.Secure email by OpenPGP or S/MIME is not natively supported. ![]() If you would like to do the same, install TamperMonkey for Chrome, GreaseMonkey for Firefox, NinjaKit for Safari, Violent Monkey for Opera, or AdGuard for Internet Explorer (in Advanced Mode), then add this GreaseMonkey script.įinally, click on your username at the top right corner of reddit, click on the comments tab, and click on the new OVERWRITE button at the top of the page. The resignation of Ellen Pao and the appointment of Steve Huffman as CEO, despite initial hopes, has continued the same trend.Īs an act of protest, I have chosen to redact all the comments I've ever made on reddit, overwriting them with this message. The situation has gotten especially worse since the appointment of Ellen Pao as CEO, culminating in the seemingly unjustified firings of several valuable employees and bans on hundreds of vibrant communities on completely trumped-up charges. I have left reddit for Voat due to years of admin mismanagement and preferential treatment for certain subreddits and users holding certain political and ideological views. I still prefer Popcorn, though, to quickly check my email. I am unsure if it strips out HTML, because I can't get it to check email right now. And it does multiple accounts, like Popcorn. Another program, Mailwasher, also does those (The free version used to allow multiple accounts, but an update removed that feature and kept it alone in the pro version), and Mailwasher also looks to do imap and hotmail (but only one account at a time for the free version). The reason I chose Popcorn is because it loads email headers from POP servers, to let you delete spam without having to load it, to view it quickly, and then even save email/attachments. My other main email client is popcorn, which is a small lightweight client that can download email from POP servers ( doesn't seem to do IMAP), and it load as text ( so it won't load javascript or web-bugs or other nasties), but it can strip out HTML ( and it does fairly well-email often shows up as plain text without HTML strewn throughout). It is a decent program, which is probably why many people use it. I normally use Thunderbird to download/store my email. ![]()
